The Columbiana Clippers (3-0, 2-0) scored 10 runs in the first three frames en route to a 14-4 five inning victory over Southern Local (0-2, 0-2) Tuesday afternoon.
Leading the way offensively for the Clippers were Mitch Davidson, Keenan Green and Zach Fahs who each collected two hits on the day. Fahs had two doubles and drove in three runs while Davidson also collected 3 RBI’s. Green drove in two and Tim Davin knocked in four runs with three of them coming on a two out bases clearing double in the first inning. Chase Franken also got into the action offensively with a triple and scored two runs.
Davidson (1-0) was the winning pitcher on the afternoon. He went four innings giving up 3 runs (1 ER) on 3 hits while striking out 5 and only walking 1.
Columbiana is back in action tomorrow at Cene Park when the Clippers will battle the Rams of Mineral Ridge. Game time is set for 7 pm at Cene 3.
