Columbiana takes out Mineral Ridge 12-0

Chase Franken continued his strong start on the mound Wednesday night as he went the distance in the Clippers (4-0) 12-0 five inning victory over Mineral Ridge.  Franken struck out 9 while allowing four hits and walking none to earn his second victory of the season.

The Clippers struck early with four runs in the first and put the game away with a seven run fifth inning.  At the plate, Columbiana was led by Kennan Green who was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s and Tim Davin who went 2-3 with a double and 4 RBI’s.  Jake Clark also added a double for the Clippers and walked twice.

The Clippers are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they welcome the Blue Devils of McDonald High School to Firestone Park.  First pitch is scheduled for 5 pm.
