JV Clippers Fall to Tigers

The JV Clippers fell on Tuesday to the Springfield Tigers by a score of 11-1. But, despite the Tigers scoring 11, only 3 of those runs were actually earned. Either way, scoring just 1 run makes it tough to win.

Sophomore Thatcher Smith got the start, and struck out 2 in his inning of work. He only gave up 1 earned run and did not walk anyone. Freshman Carson Chaney would come on to throw the next four innings, in which he struck out 3 and only allowed 2 earned runs.

A huge bright spot, offensively, was sophomore Ayden Dennison. Ayden had 2 singles for the Clippers. The freshman Chaney and fellow freshman Jameson Neal each had singles as well. The lone run for the Clippers was scored by freshman Stephen Varkony. Neal, Varkony, and the sophomore Smith each stole a base in the game.
