JV Shines on Split Night Behind Smith

On a Thursday night when the Varsity and JV squads split up, it would be the JV, who headed all the way up to Garrettsville Garfield, stealing the show. Sophomore Thatcher Smith was great on the mound, throwing a complete game no-hitter for the young Clippers, while striking out 9 G-Men, earning the W!

The Varsity squad competed, putting some good swings on the baseball, but ultimately came up well short with Hubbard taking advantage of some miscues.

Thatcher Smith (So.) – Complete Game No-Hitter, 9 strikeouts, W (pitching); 2 runs scored and a stolen base (hitting)
