Clippers Make Quick Work of Tigers

Quick 5 innings for the Clippers on Monday against the Wellsville Tigers, and everybody that dressed got at least 2 plate appearances. 13 of the 15 players scored at least one run. Sophomore Beckett Wilson had another 3-hit game (3 straight) which included a double, and he drove in 2 RBIs. Six other Clippers had multi-hit games as well… Senior Hunter Davanzo (2 RBIs, 2 Runs), junior Nick Klindworth (a double, 3 RBIs, 1 Run), junior Avery Young (a double, 1 RBI, 2 Runs), sophomore Ethan Lehnerd (a double, 2 RBIs, 1 Run), freshman Jackson Davis (1 RBI); and, freshman Jacob Conway also added 2 hits (the first and second of his varsity career) while driving in 2 RBIs and scoring once. Senior Sam Inboden (2 RBIs, 2 Runs), junior Rocco Mediate (2 Runs), and freshman Stephen Varkony (2 Runs) each added singles as well to round out the Clippers’ 18 total hits.

Along with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate, freshman Jackson Davis took the mound for the Clippers and pitched a 5-inning complete game (due to mercy rule) shutout, earning his first career Win. Davis allowed just 4 hits, while walking nobody and striking out 9 Tigers.

The Varsity squad will head down to Wellsville tomorrow to take care of round two with the Tigers, while the “froshmore” team will head to Cene to take on Lowellville #ClipThat
