Clippers Take Down Tigers 19-2

Columbiana (15-5, 8-1) routed the Wellsville Tigers 19-2 on a sunny Tuesday afternoon at Hammond Park.  The Clippers scored in every inning including six in both the second and third innings to pull away from the Tigers.

Zachary Pleska picked up his third win of the year on the mound.  Pleska allowed one hit and zero runs in his three innings of work, striking out 7.  Ian Less saw his first varsity action on the mound finishing off the final two frames striking out four while allowing two runs.

Offensively, the Clippers were helped out by Tiger pitching walking 12 times and were hit by five pitches.  Columbiana added 11 hits including two by Less who also doubled and was on base five times.  Devin Daugherty and Trevor Dearing each doubled.  Alex Eusebio scored three times and Pleksa knocked in three runs on the afternoon.  Ashton Kakavros also helped out the offense tallying a hit and two RBI.

Columbiana will travel to Lisbon tomorrow to take on the Blue Devils at 5 PM.
