Clippers-Quakers Tune Up on Monday

State ranked Columbiana travelled to #3 Salem for another spring training tune up on Monday afternoon.  Riley McElwain got the start for the Clippers and went four innings while Alex Eusebio followed throwing three innings.

The Clippers put together their best performance of the spring and continue to grow as a team.  Offensively, Zachary Pleska launched a two run home while Eusebio collected two hits and McElwain roped a double down the left field line.  Maxx Grommes was on base twice with a hit and both Bayden Pipoly and Trevor Dearing reached on excellent bunts as the Clippers worked on small ball to go with its long ball threat.

Tuesday the Clippers will travel to Waterloo to take on the Vikings in its final spring training contest.  It will be a split squad game (the first was a split squad game vs. Heartland last week).  Schedule to pitch for Columbiana are Seth Spooner, Zachary Pleska, and Devin Daugherty.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
