Clippers-Lions Battle it Out at Firestone

One week after the Clippers first scrimmage vs. West Branch, a split squad Columbiana team welcomed Heartland to Firestone Park for a home scrimmage versus the Lions.

Brady Kridler, Trevor Dearing, Eddie Clancy and Ian Less all worked on the mound in preparation for the upcoming season.  At the plate, Dearing collected two hits while a number of other Clippers added to the hit total or were on base.  The Clippers were aggressive on the base paths often stretching bags in order to get runners in scoring position.  Carter Murphy reached base twice while Mateo Mazzotta had a single.

Next up for the Clippers will be Marlington on Thursday afternoon at Firestone Park.  The hope is to get the scrimmage started around 4:30.  Following Marlington, Columbiana has scheduled scrimmages with Salem on Monday the 21st and another split squad game with Waterloo on the 23rd.
