Columbiana (19-5) defeated the Eagles of United Thursday afternoon 11-0 in non-conference action. On a day that seemed destined to be rained out, the weather held off long enough for the Clippers to earn their 19th victory of the season.
Mitch Davidson (3-1) earned the complete game five inning victory for Columbiana. Davidson was efficient, scattering eight hits while striking out four and walking none in his five innings of work.
Offensively, Columbiana was aided by drawing 11 walks. Davidson, Zach Fahs and Seth Ross each drew two walks on the day. Keenan Green and Jake Clark each collected two run singles while Tim Davin also drove in a run on a single. Ross and Connor Stacey each score two runs for the Clippers.
The Clippers are off Friday and Saturday and will be back in action on Monday. Columbiana will travel to Cene Park in Struthers to take on Lowellville at 5 pm.
