Tournament Picture Becomes Clear for the Clippers

Final resumes and records were due from each team this past Wednesday, and after a few days of voting, it was determined that the Columbiana Clippers earned the sixth seed in the Northeast Ohio Struthers/Springfield District. The top eight seeds earn a bye for the first round of the sectional, if they so choose. Sunday was the draw, and four of those byes go to the Struthers (Cene Park) side of the bracket, while four go to the other side at Springfield High School in New Middletown. When our turn came along, we felt very good about the position we were able to put ourselves in. We took a bye in the Cene Park bracket. And then, Crestview, who we defeated 3-0 at Eastwood Field less than three weeks ago, chose to get another crack at us. They will need to take care of Waterloo next Monday, first. But, chances are, we will have another 44408 public school baseball battle for the second time this season; just the second time in the last seven years. This time, it will take place at Firestone Park for a chance to go to Districts.
