Eagles Hand Clippers First Loss of Season

United knocked off Columbiana on a cold Wednesday night 4-1 to hand the Clippers (10-1, 4-1 EOAC) its first loss of the season.  United used a strong pitching performance from Nevin Hahlen and capitalized on some Clipper mistakes to earn the victory.

Devin Daugherty (2-1) took the loss for Columbiana.  Daugherty pitched four innings giving up three runs (one earned) while striking out four and walking none.  Seth Spooner finished the final two innings for Columbiana striking out four while working around three walks.

The Clippers only managed three hits on the afternoon.  Zachary Pleska collected two of the hits while Brady Kridler picked up the other with an RBI single in the 5th for Columbiana.

Columbiana is back in action Thursday at Cene Park against Youngstown Cardinal Mooney.  First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM.
