Columbiana Takes Command of EOAC

Riley McElwainColumbiana (9-4, 7-0 EOAC) defeated Lisbon (5-7, 5-2) 10-1 Tuesday afternoon at Firestone Park.  The win gives the Clippers a commanding two game lead in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference heading into the final few weeks of games.

Riley McElwain (3-1) took it the distance allowing just one run on three hits while striking out 12 and walking just two.  McElwain was in command from the start keeping Lisbon hitters off balance with a mix of hard and soft stuff.

At the plate, the Clippers managed six hits with two coming from Trevor Dearing but also drew ten walks.  Seth Spooner added a two run double in a five run second inning that gave the Clippers control.

Columbiana will have two days off before heading to East Liverpool to take on the Potters at 5 PM on Friday.
