The Clipper’s White Squad (3-0) traveled to Girard Friday and shutdown the Indians winning 9-0. The Clipper’s jumped out to an early lead scoring 5 runs in the first inning and never looked back as three pitchers allowed only 2 hits in the contest. Columbiana would add two more runs in the second and fourth innings while collecting 9 hits in total.
At the plate, Joe Wilczak and Tyler Andersen led the way. Each player had two hits and a double scoring two runs apiece while Wilczak also added two RBI.
On the mound, Wilczak (1-0) got the start striking out seven in three innings of work while allowing no hits and walking one. Andersen took the bump in relief striking out five in two innings while Eddie Clancy closed out the game striking out four in his two frames.
