Clippers Drop Round 2 with Bulldogs

The Clippers hit 5 doubles and had 4 players with 3 hits, but still came away empty handed in a 17-16 loss to East Palestine.

Some positives… Freshman Jackson Davis went 3 innings allowing just 3 of the Bulldogs’ 17 runs. He (4) along with fellow freshman Stephen Varkony recorded their first varsity strikeouts on the mound. Davis also recorded his first varsity hit at the plate. Varkony, along with junior Avery Young and sophomores Ethan Lehnerd and Beckett Wilson, had 3 hits in the game. Senior Hunter Davanzo and junior Drennen Bosela each had a pair of hits. Doubles came from Davanzo, Bosela, Young, Lehnerd, and Wilson. Varkony had 3 RBIs, while Bosela, Lehnerd, and Wilson each had 2.

The Varsity will travel to Austintown Fitch on Friday.
