First Official JV Game in the Books

Though overall it was a tough go of it for the Clippers JV squad in their season opener at Toronto on Saturday, there were some good things to point out.

Freshman Jackson Davis went 2-for-2 with a pair of singles, bringing in all 3 of the Clippers’ runs. Freshman Carter Griffith added a hit and scored a run. Junior Nick Klindworth and freshman Jacob Conway each scored a run, as well.

Klindworth gave up 0 earned runs in his 1 & 2/3 innings of work on the mound. Davis and fellow freshman Stephen Varkony combined for 6 strikeouts in their high school pitching debuts.

The JV squad will be back in action Monday against Cardinal Mooney following the varsity season opener at 5:00 PM at Bob Cene Park against Mooney.
