Putting 2023 in the Books

Because all posts were done on the Facebook, Twitter (X), and Instagram pages, I never actually managed to get those posts into this website. I apologize for that. For 2024, I do plan to create the posts on here and then share them to the social media outlets.

However, in an effort to at least make one post for the 2023 season, I just wanted to go through and point out some of the highlights from the year:

-Winning the EOAC with a perfect 12-0 record.

-Outscoring opponents 255-127.

-Clipper Baseball history (as far as we know)… Highest team batting average (.343), Most team hits (258), Most RBIs (205), and Most doubles (52).

-Clipper Baseball history (as far as we know)… 6 players batted .333 or above (w/qualifying at-bats), 5 players with 30+ hits, 5 players with 20+ RBIs, 6 players with 20+ runs, and 6 players with 5+ doubles.

-2023 graduate, Bayden Pipoly broke the school’s career record for stolen bases with 69.

-8 players and a coach earned all-league honors… Alex Eusebio, Colin Keleman, Ian Less, and Bayden Pipoly for 1st team; Devin Daugherty (should’ve been 1st), Max Conway, and Max Grommes for 2nd team; Dylan Hogan for honorable mention; Coach Franken for EOAC Coach of the Year.

-3 players earned all-northeast Ohio honors… Alex Eusebio and Devin Daugherty for 1st team; Colin Keleman for 2nd team.

-Devin Daugherty was named to the PBR Honorable Mention All-State team.

-Alex Eusebio and Colin Keleman played in the 2023 YSN All-Star Baseball Game.

-Bayden Pipoly played in the 2023 NEOBCA All-Star Game.

Although we came up a little short of where we thought we might be, tournament-wise, it was certainly a season we can hang our hats on. And, with 7 seniors returning to the diamond in 2024, we are very optimistic.

Peace out, 2023! #OnwardAndUpward
