On a sunny but chilly Friday afternoon the Columbiana White Squad scored 17 runs enroute to a 17-5 victory over Southern Local.
The Clippers blew it open in the second scoring 10 runs in the frame to break a scoreless tie. After Southern chipped in 3 runs in the third, the Clippers put it out of reach with six more in the bottom frame.
Offensively, Columbiana was led by Eddie Clancy, Ian Less and Tony Kocanjer who each had two hits. Clancy also added a double and scored three runs. Cameron Sloan reached based three times with two walks and a two run single. Additionally, Daniel Wilczak scored three runs for Columbiana.
On the mound Johnny Ervin picked up the win allowing three runs (one earned) in three frames of work. Ervin struck out three and walked just one. Eddie Clancy finished the game allowing two runs (one earned) in two innings of work striking out four.
The White Squad will next be in action Friday April 9th when they travel to Girard.
