Clippers see many positives in scrimmages Wednesday Night

For the first time in almost two years the Columbiana High School baseball squads participated in live action as Columbiana’s Red team hosted Salem on Wednesday night while the Black squad headed to Salem for a scrimmage.  Both squads saw many positives especially on the mound as pitching was the name of the game in the Red scrimmage.  At Salem, Columbiana pitchers had much success but the bats were alive in the early going as the team pounded out 10+ hits on the evening.

Pitching for the Red squad were Riley McElwain (2 innings, 5 K’s), Zachary Pleska (2 innings, 5 K’s) and Logan Hoschar (1 inning, 1 K).

For the Black squad Alex Eusebio (5 K’s), Devin Daugherty (5 K’s), Collin Kelleman and Ian Less took the bump.

Next up for Red squad will be a scrimmage next Thursday March 18th vs. East Liverpool.

The Black squad’s next competition will be Monday March 22nd vs. Marlington.
