Summer Clippers Come Up Short at East Liverpool

Box Score

The Summer Clippers dropped its third straight road game in another close battle 4-2 at East Liverpool in a makeup from Saturday’s postponed game.

East Liverpool came up clutch when they needed it as all four runs were scored with two outs.  The Clippers battled but could not quite get the big hit to get over the hump and tie the game.

Joey Wilczak got the start and pitched four strong innings giving up 3 earned runs while striking out 7.  Logan Hoschar pitched two scoreless innings in relief striking out 2.

At the plate both Cameron Sloan and Carson Dota doubled.  Hoschar continued hitting well with two singles.  John Ervin also collected a single for Columbiana.

The Clippers play next Thursday at South Range.  Game time is 4:30 PM
