Summer Clippers Drop Back and Forth Battle with Lisbon

The Summer Clippers fell to Lisbon Monday evening 10-9 as Lisbon scored two runs in the bottom of the 7th to take the victory.  The game was a back and forth affair with six lead changes including two in the final frame.

With the Clippers trailing 8-7 in the top of the 7th Kris Pan reached on an error to get the inning started.  Bayden Pipoly followed with a single and walks by Chase Franken and Brady Dixon tied the game up.  Logan Hoschar followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Clippers the lead heading into the bottom half.  Lisbon rallied and was able to score the winning run with two outs.

The Summer Clippers has their best offensive output of the season collecting 11 hits.  Leading the way was Hoschar who was 3-3 including a double and 2 RBI.  Brady Kridler added 2 hits and an RBI also.  Joey Wilzcak had a hit and 2 RBI’s and Carson Dota continued to stay hot this summer with a single and RBI.  Also collecting hits for the Clippers were Trevor Dearing and Blake Nusser.

On the mound four Clippers pitched.  John Ervin got the start.  Chase Franken struck out 4 in two innings while Trent Childers and Dixon each struck out 2.

The Summer Clippers will head to East Liverpool on Tuesday to take on the Summer Potters.  Game time is scheduled for 6 PM.
