South Range defeated the Summer Clippers Wednesday evening at Legion field 16-3 in six innings. The Raiders featured a strong contingent of players that were hot at the plate all day scoring runs in every inning. Early on the game was tight but the Raiders blew it open in the sixth scoring six runs to put the game away.
At the plate the Clippers were led by Bayden Pipoly who had a double and a run scored. Also collecting hits for Columbiana were Logan Hoschar and Brady Dixon. Chase Franken walked twice and scored a run. Carson Dota and Blake Nusser each reached based via walk. Joe Wilczak had an RBI that tied the game at 2 in the first inning.
Pitching for the Summer Clippers were Wilczak, Eddie Clancy, Trevor Dearing and Ryan Fahs.
17 players saw action Wednesday night including 15 getting plate appearances. The summer season continues Friday as the Clippers will host the Western Reserve Blue Devils. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM at Firestone Park.
