Interesting article on the shift

Just read an interesting article on MLB.com that deals with some of the early days of the shift and some crazy ideas people have.  The shift can be dated all the way back to the 40’s to try and stop Ted Williams, but in 1994 a bad Oberlin College baseball team tried something crazy that they called the “Flytrap.”  The article is pretty good if you want to take a read.  You can access it here:

If you didn’t know Oberlin College is located west of Cleveland.  It is a small Division III Liberal Arts school that is known for eccentric ideas.
