Clippers Pay a Visit to Kindergarten Class

Four senior Clipper baseball players paid a visit today to Mrs. Dota’s Kindergarten class to spread some holiday cheer.  Evan Kenneally, Erik Hopfenziz, Wayne Davis and Michael Ginocchi brought with them a couple of their favorite Christmas books and holiday spirits and shared with the young future Clippers.

The afternoon started with each player sitting with the young students as they listened to a story that the kids made for the occasion.  After the kindergateners read their story, they all went to the carpet to hear a story read by Michael Ginocchi.  Ginocchi read to them A Baseball Game Before Christmas which is a baseball take on the children’s classic.  Following the book they all went back to their tables as the players helped each student make reindeer food for the upcoming holiday.  When finished, Evan Kenneally read the class ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to finish off the day.

This was a great experience for the young students but also the four seniors who went.  As the new year is upon us look for more reading events with the class from our baseball players.
