News/Notes, Scrappers game and 2019 Schedule Update

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there that help making it possible for your sons to play this great game of baseball.  Many players are working hard this off-season at the game of baseball and also at getting stronger and faster.  Hard work will pay off next season.

Summer League/Workouts

We continue to workout on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursdays.  Monday and Wednesday’s are speed and power days while Thursday is a competition day.  If possible we would like to have as many players there as possible.  We will have workouts the next two weeks and then take the week of July 4th off.

  • Monday 5:30-6:45 at the Park
  • Wednesday 5:30-6:45 at the HS Gym/Mez
  • Thursday 10:00-11:00 AM behind the HS Track

We have had 3 summer league dates so far and the turnout has been ok.  I would love to get more of our current players there is possible but I understand there are conflicts.  For those that are playing already there are no expectations of you coming.  We have had competitive games with a good number of alumni coming to play.  The games are a lot of fun.  We have had 13, 18 and 13 players for the three dates and I would love to see 18 at every one so we can split into two even teams.  There will be two games in the next week.

  • Thursday June 21st
  • Sunday June 24th

We try to start at 6:30 by picking teams and then playing as many innings as we can in about two hours.

Scrappers Game

All players received a ticket to a Mahoning Valley Scrappers game when he turned in his uniform.  This ticket is good for any game during the 2019 season, but as a coaching staff we decided that this Friday June 22nd would be a good day to go as a team if possible.  This is completely voluntary and there are no expectations about coming on Friday, but it would be nice to get a number of guys together to watch some local professional baseball.  If you can’t make it Friday I hope you will be able to attend another time during the season.  I found a few tickets in the locker room that seemed to have been left behind so if you do not have your ticket please contact Coach Wolf.

  • Friday June 22nd Clipper night at the Scrappers- Eastwood Field 7:05 start

NEOBCA Senior All Star Game

Zach Fahs and AJ Perkins will be participating in the NEOBCA All Star Game at Canal Park on Tuesday June 26th at 4:00 PM.  Zach and AJ are a part of the Mahoning/Columbiana squad and will be taking on the Portage/Trumbull County squad.  Canal Park is the home of the Cleveland Indians AA Squad the Akron Rubberducks.

2019 Schedule Update

The 2019 EOAC schedule has been released along with a few non-league games that we have scheduled up to this point.  The majority of the schedule is done in the fall, but I wanted to post it as it comes in.  You can access it here.
