The East Palestine Bulldogs walked off in defeating Columbiana 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon. The loss drops the Clippers record to 7-11 and 6-3 in the EOAC.
Columbiana would take an early 1-0 lead when Chase Franken knocked in Zach Fahs with an RBI groundout. The Clippers would tack on 3 more in the 3rd inning for a 4-0 lead. The Bulldogs, however, began chipping away in the 4th inning scoring 3 runs with two outs. The clutch hitting would continue with a 2 out RBI single in the 6th and another 2 out hit in the 7th for the walk off.
AJ Perkins went the distance giving up 5 runs (1 earned) while walking 2. Offensively, the Clippers were held to 2 hits both singles from Franken and Perkins.
Columbiana will look to rebound tomorrow when the Clippers travel to Wellsville to take on the Tigers.
