Columbiana (4-6) downed the visiting Beavers of Beaver Local (5-5) on a warm Saturday afternoon to finish off a winning week full of baseball. The Clippers continued their attack at the plate scoring a run in the first, two in the second and five in the fourth to put away the Beavers.
Ryan Fahs (1-0) got the start and pitched into the fifth inning before giving way to his brother who finished out the game for the save. On the day, Fahs threw 4.2 innings giving up 4 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits while striking out 2. Zach Fahs threw the final 2.1 innings not allowing a hit and striking out 2.
Chase Franken added 3 hits on the afternoon including a triple. AJ Perkins and Michael Ginocchi stayed hot at the plate as they each had 2 hits on the day. Perkins also added 2 RBI while Ginocchi knocked in 1. Steven Anderson collected his first varsity hit with an RBI single in the fourth and Evan Kenneally knocked in 2 with a two out single in the fourth inning.
Columbiana will host Wellsville on Monday in an EOAC contest at Legion Field. First pitch is scheduled for 5 PM.
