Clippers Drop Tight One to Tigers

Box Score

Columbiana (3-6) fell to Springfield (6-2) by a score of 10-9 on Friday night at Cene Park in Struthers.  The Clippers lead by two heading into the seventh inning but were unable to hold on as the Tigers scored three in the bottom of the frame to win the game.

AJ Perkins had a gritty performance on the mound pitching 6+ innings giving up 4 runs while striking out one.  Perkins pitched to contact all night but unfortunately it was not the Clippers night defensively.

Offensively, the Clipper collected 10 hits including two each by Chase Franken, AJ Perkins, Ryan Fahs and Michael Ginocchi.  Franken had a triple in the first and Erik Hopfenziz added double and 3 RBI.
