The Clippers traveled to Sandusky Saturday afternoon and scrimmaged Division 2 Celina and Division 2 Mansfield Senior. Columbiana split the double header but more importantly the young Clippers were able to finally get on a field and play real baseball. This was the first time all year that we have been able to hit on a field and there were a lot of positives that came out of the trip but at the same time there is a lot of work to do. As always, scrimmages are used to look at players in many different positions and to experience live game scenarios that we can continue to work on. This is a big week for Clipper baseball as the weather looks like it will be nice enough to be outside every day. Both the varsity and JV squads have two scrimmages scheduled and it will be a time for players to fine tune their skills before opening day on March 24th.
This weeks schedule is as follows:
- Monday: Practice for all players 3:15-4:00 PM
- Scrimmage vs. Lowellville- 4:30 PM
- Tuesday
- Scrimmage vs. Sebring 5:00 PM
- JV Scrimmage @ Western Reserve 5:00 PM (Meet at Park locker room by 3:45)
- Dress lists will be posted tomorrow as to where players will be playing
- Wednesday
- Varsity Practice 3:30-5:00
- JV Scrimmage @ Salem 4:45 PM (Meet at Park locker room by 3:45)
- Thursday: Practice 3:30-5:30 (Equipment/Uniform Handout)
- Friday: Practice 3:30-5:00
- Saturday: Opening Day vs. Jackson Milton- First Pitch 1:00 PM
