Western Reserve knocks off Clippers in Final Game of 2017 Season

Box Score

On a beautiful senior day the Columbiana Clippers (20-8) were unable to hold on to a 3-1 lead, losing to Western Reserve (20-4) 11-4 Saturday morning.  The Clippers were unable to overcome an eight run sixth inning by the Blue Devils that broke a 3-3 tie.  The game was close early on, but the Blue Devils put it away in the sixth.

Offensively the Clippers had six hits including a double by Tim Davin.  Chase Franken collected his 40th hit of the season and Mitch Davidson tied a school record for most runs in a career when he crossed the plate in the first inning.

With the season over the Clippers will graduate six seniors who all contributed to the 8th 20 win season in school history.  Mitch Davidson, Tim Davin, Keenan Green, Connor Stacey, Vince Vivo and Jake Clark will be missed and are all credited with helping bring back the winning ways of Clipper baseball.
