Columbiana (17-5) dropped a 5-4 decision to Beaver Local on a blistery Tuesday afternoon at Firestone Park. AJ Perkins (2-1) got the start and was the tough luck loser have surrendering only one run in his three innings of work. Perkins struck out five while walking two and surrendered only one hit.
At the plate, Columbiana was led by Mitch Davidson who collected two hits, scored a run and had an rbi. Zach Fahs added a double, while Chase Franken and Tim Davin each singled. Keenen Green had two rbi’s for the Clippers.
It was a memorable day for both Davidson and Green. Davidson’s fifth inning single broke the Columbiana career record for hits. Green’s eight putouts on the day broke the putouts career record. The two milestones are truly a great accomplishment for both of them and a big congratulations to both goes out to each.
Columbiana will travel to South Range tomorrow at 5 pm to take on the Raiders. The Clipper’s regularly scheduled game with Toronto had to be cancelled due to a league makeup for Toronto.
