Clipper defeat South Range 4-2 for 11th win

Box Score

Mitch Davidson pitched an 83 pitch complete game Thursday afternoon to help lead the Columbiana Clippers (11-1) to a 4-2 victory over South Range (9-4).  Davidson was efficient all day allowing only 5 hits and pitching to contact, allowing his defense to work behind him.  He gave up two runs (0 ER), walked two and struck out two in his seven innings of work.

South Range took an early lead scoring one run in the first but the Clippers responded in the second inning plating three runs led by Chase Franken’s two run double.  South Range would bring the score to 3-2 in the fifth but the Clippers would bounce back in the bottom of the frame scoring a fourth run on Vince Vivo’s sacrifice fly.  The four runs were all Davidson needed as he finished off the Raiders in order in the seventh.

At the plate, Franken led the team with two hits and a walk.  Keenan Green, Zach Fahs and Vivo each collected hits.

Columbiana is back in action tomorrow when the Clippers travel to East Palestine.  First pitch is slated for 5 pm.
