Columbiana (7-0, 4-0) downed Wellsville (2-4, 2-2) tonight by a 10-0 score in 5 innings. The Clippers got off to a fast start scoring two runs in the first inning when Tim Davin knocked in Mitch Davidson and Zach Fahs with a single to right centerfield. In the second, Columbiana scored six runs to put the game away. The inning was highlighted by two run singles by Davidson and Vince Vivo. The Clippers would tack on two more in the third to reach the final margin including an rbi single on Erik Hopfenziz’s first varsity hit.
On the mound Zach Fahs threw the complete game shutout to earn his first win of the season. Fahs threw five innings of two hit ball, striking out six with zero walks.
Columbiana has an off day tomorrow but will finish off the week with three tough road games at Girard, Salem and Western Reserve.
