Box Score

Columbiana (6-0, 3-0 ITCL) traveled to Wellsville (2-3, 2-1 ITCL) on Monday afternoon and defeated the Tigers 10-1.  The Clippers struggled in the early going as a late arrival and abbreviated warm up forced the players into action shortly after getting off the bus.  Chase Franken (3-0) got the start and earned the victory pitching three shutout innings giving up two hits and striking out five.  Seth Ross (2 ip, 1 h, 3 k’s) and AJ Perkins (2 ip, 2 h, 1 er, 2 k’s) finished off the game for Columbiana.

At the plate, Connor Stacey led the way going 3-4 with a double and two rbi’s.  Keenan Green and Zach Fahs each connected for a double and Mitch Davidson had a first inning triple for the winners.

The Tigers and Clippers will square off once again Tuesday afternoon at Firestone Park for game two of the two game set.  Zach Fahs will take the mound for Columbiana with a first pitch scheduled for 5 pm.
