Columbiana Defeats JFK on Sunny Saturday Afternoon

Box Score

Columbiana (5-0) defeated Warren John F. Kennedy (3-2) on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Firestone Park.  Seth Ross (1-0) picked up his first varsity win in relief, pitching one scoreless inning while Mitch Davidson earned the save.

The Clippers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the first thanks in part to a two out two run double by Tim Davin.  The Eagles battled back, however, scoring three runs in the third when Michael Klabin cleared the bases with a two out double.  It was a back and forth affair until the Clippers were able to retake the lead for good in the bottom half of the 5th and hang on in the 7th.

Leading the way at the plate for Columbiana was Keenan Green who was 4-4 on the afternoon with an RBI.  Davidson added two doubles and scored three runs while Davin had two knocks and 3 RBI.

Columbiana will continue ITCL White Division play on Monday when the Clippers travel to Wellsville.  First pitch is 5 pm.
