Clippers split pair with United Wednesday evening

Columbiana (15-10) traveled to United on Wednesday to play two games against the Eagles.  The Clippers dropped the first game 6-5 but rallied in the second winning 15-4 in five innings.

In game 1 the Clippers pounded out 10 hits including 2 each by Mitch Davidson, Keenan Green and Dylan Davin.  Davidson and Tim Davin each had a double.  Zach Fahs got the start and gave up 3 runs (1 earned) in 4 innings.

In game 2 the Clippers drew 9 walks to go along with 9 hits in scoring 15 runs.  AJ Perkins led the way with 2 hits including a double.  Jake Clark and Dylan Davin also had doubles or Columbiana.  Mitch Davidson, Tim Davin and Josh Herbert each drove in two runs on the afternoon while Davidson scored 3 runs.  Connor Stacey and Tim Davin each score twice.

Brandon Johnston pitched a complete game for the victory.  Johnston gave up 4 runs on 8 hits while striking out 3.

Columbiana will host Jackson Milton Thursday afternoon.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
