The Clippers dropped a tough one to Carrollton on Wednesday night in Carrollton. The Clippers couldn’t overcome a 6 run first inning by the Warriors eventually falling 8-3. On the day Columbiana pounded out 10 hits but left 12 men on base leading to the final outcome. Brandon Johnston got the start but struggled to find the plate giving up 6 runs (5 earned) on 4 hits while walking 4. Zach Fahs got the last out of the first inning and finished the game for the Clippers. Fahs pitched 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits and walking 3.
At the plate, the Clippers were led by the Davin brothers who each collected two hits. Tim added a triple. Jake Clark, Keenan Green and Fahs each doubled with Fahs and Josh Herbert collecting RBI’s.
Columbiana will travel to Springfield today to take on the Tigers.
