Davidson shutout gives Clippers back to back league titles

Mitch Davidson pitched a complete game shutout to earn his 4th victory of the year leading Columbiana to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Leetonia Bears.  The win clinches the Clippers (12-5, 7-1) second straight ITCL White division title.

Davidson ran into some trouble in the first giving up three singles and leaving the bases loaded, but after that he allowed only one more hit.  On the day, Davidson allowed 4 hits and 2 walks while striking out 12.  He is now 4-0 on the year.

Offensively, the Clippers were held in check by Leetonia lefty Joey Hall.  Hall pitched a complete game allowing 6 hits and 5 runs (0 earned).  Columbiana got on the board with 2 in the first but Hall was able to strand runners throughout the game until the sixth when the Clippers were able to scratch across 3 more runs, 2 of them coming with 2 outs.  Vince Vivo and Dylan Davin provided the insurance runs with two out RBI singles for Columbiana..  Keenan Green and Tim Davin also each had a hit and RBI for the home squad.

Columbiana is back at it tomorrow when the Clippers travel to Carrollton to take on the Warriors.  Game time is set for 5:30.
