Box Score
Tim Davin hit a 3 run home run in the 1st inning to help lead the Clippers(8-4, 5-1) to a 10-6 victory over the visiting Mineral Ridge Rams.
The 1st inning began with Levi Birch reaching on a 1 out single followed by Mitch Davidson being hit by a pitch. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Davin hit the first pitch he saw over the left field fence for his first home run of the year.
The lead was short lived, however, as the Rams scored 4 runs in the top of the third to tie the game. The Clippers quickly responded, scoring 2 in the bottom half of the inning and never relinquished the lead after that.
In addition to Davin, many Clippers had a good day offensively. Jake Clark led the way with 3 hits and 2 RBI including a double. Mitch Davidson had 2 hits, a double and scored 2 runs. Nate Armstrong also had 2 hits and scored 3 runs for Columbiana.
Brandon Johnston (2-0) picked up the win pitching 4 frames giving up 4 runs (2 earned) while striking out 1 and walking 4. Zach Fahs and Tim Davin also pitched in relief to help secure the victory.
Columbiana will travel to South Range tomorrow to take on the Raiders at 5:00 pm.
