Columbiana (7-3, 5-0) traveled to Lisbon this afternoon to take on the Blue Devils in a ITCL White Division battle. Mitch Davidson took the mound for the Clippers and earned his 3rd victory of the season in Columbiana’s 7-4 victory. On the day, Davidson threw a complete game 5 hitter giving up 4 runs (1 earned) while striking out 7 and walking 2. Davidson is now 3-0 on the year.
Lisbon got on the board first in the bottom of the second inning. Andric roped a double to right center and Morrell followed with an RBI Triple to right. Davidson shut down the next three Blue Devil hitters to leave the score 1-0. The Lisbon lead was short lived though as the Clippers quickly struck back for two runs in the top of the third inning. Seth Ross led off the inning with a single and moved to third after a double by Dylan Davin. After Ross was thrown out at home on a ground out Keenan Green would single to knock in Davin. Josh Herbert would then single to bring home Davidson and the Clippers gained the lead they would never relinquish.
On the day the Clippers recorded 12 hits including 3 by Green. Davin, Ross and Herbert also collected 2 hits for Columbiana with Herbert driving in 3 runs. Zach Fahs had a big pinch hit RBI single in the 7th inning to give the Clippers some insurance.
Columbiana and Lisbon are back at it tomorrow at Firestone Park. Jake Clark will take the hill for the Clippers who look to secure at least a share of the ITCL White Division title.
