Columbiana dropped to 4-3 on the season after a 15-5 Non-League defeat at the hands of the Crestview Rebels. Crestivew pounded out 15 hits on the day and scored seven runs in the first two innings to take a commanding lead. Zach Fahs got the start for Columbiana and fell to 0-1 on the season surrendering 7 runs on 8 hits in two innings of work.
The Clippers battled back in the 5th inning scoring five runs cutting the score to 11-5 but it was to little to late as the Rebels added 4 more in the sixth to earn the 10 run-6 inning victory.
Leading Columbiana at the plate were Dylan Davin and Mitch Davidson who each had a pair of hits and scored a run. Davidson also drove in two on the evening. Keenan Green, Josh Herbert and Ben Taylor also collected hits and AJ Perkins recorded his first varsity hit with a 5th inning single.
Columbiana is back in action tomorrow at Firestone Park as the Clippers welcome the Liberty Leopards for a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to start at 11:00 am with the second approximately 30 minutes after the end of the first.
