The Columbiana Clippers (2-2, 2-0) defeated the Southern Indians (0-4, 0-2) 8-2 on a rain soaked Wednesday afternoon.
Jake Clark (1-1) picked up the victory for the Clippers pitching seven strong frames allowing 2 runs (0 ER) on just 4 hits and striking out 11.
Columbiana broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth after an RBI single by Clark and a pinch hit RBI single by Nate Armstrong. In the sixth, the Clippers broke the game wide open when Tim Davin ripped a bases loaded triple to right center field scoring 3. Connor Stacey followed a Ben Taylor walk with an RBI groundout to round out the scoring for the Clippers.
On the day Tim Davin had two hits including a double and tripe while driving in 3 runs. Dylan Davin also collected two hits and Keenan Green tripled in the first inning.
The Clippers are back in action tomorrow traveling to McDonald to take on the Blue Devils. Zach Fahs takes the hill for the 5 pm first pitch.
