Columbiana (16-11) defeated Lisbon 8-5 in tournament action on Thursday afternoon. Devin Rice (6-1) picked up the victory giving up 5 runs in 4 innings of work while striking out 5. Jake Clark pitched 1.2 excellent innings to hold the lead and Drew Cyrus saved his fourth game of the year pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.
At the plate, the Clippers pounded out 14 hits on the afternoon including six doubles and a triple. Every Columbiana starter collected at least one hit. Rice helped himself out at the plate by going 4-4 with 3 doubles and a triple along with 4 RBI’s. Matt Weidner had 2 hits and 2 walks while Tim Davin also had 2 base knocks. Along with Rice, Mitchell Davidson, Austin Saverko and Keenan Green had doubles on the afternoon.
Columbiana travels to South Range tomorrow afternoon to take on the Raiders in a sectional final matchup. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
