The Clippers defeated the Leetonia Bears on Monday afternoon 7-2. The win moves Columbiana’s record to 10-8 and 6-0 in the ITCL White Division with two league games to go.
Devin Rice (4-0) got the start and pitched six strong innings giving up just one run on two hits while striking out 12. Drew Cyrus closed out the game throwing the seventh inning giving up one unearned run and striking out one.
At the plate, the Clippers were led by Keenan Green, Dylan Davin and Rice who each collected two hits. Green and Davin each drove in two runs. Davin collected his two hits from each side of the plate singling in the fifth from the left side and the sixth inning from the right side of the plate.
Columbiana travels to Leetonia tomorrow afternoon with a chance to clinch the ITCL White Division title. Game time is 5:00 pm.
