Columbiana outlasts EP in 15-10 slugfest

The Columbiana Clippers bats were hot even though the weather was cool in a 15-10 defeat of the East Palestine Bulldogs on a brisk Friday afternoon.

Zach Frenger (2-1) picked up the victory tossing 4 1/3 innings on the day.  Tim Davin and Matt Weidner finished the game for Frenger helping him earn the victory.

At the plate, the Clippers slugged out 15 hits en route to scoring 15 runs.  Nate Armstrong led the way with three hits on the afternoon along with scoring three runs and knocking in one.  Matt Weidner, Keenan Green, Austin Saverko, Dylan Davin, Josh Herbert and Zane Adkins each collected two hits on the day.  Green knocked in three runs while Mitch Davidson and Saverko each collected two RBI’s.

The Clippers are back in action Saturday as they head north to take on the Beavers from Painesville Riverside.  First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 pm.
