The Clippers were shutout Wednesday afternoon by the Salem Quakers in Salem’s home opener. Keaton Turney threw the complete game shut out for Salem who moves to 3-6 on the season.
The Clippers (5-5, 2-0) were only able to muster two hits on the day both by Matt Weidner. Weidner also walked in the first inning as he was on base all three of his at bats. Jake Clark got the start on the hill and threw a complete game allowing 5 runs (2 ER) and 11 hits while striking out 4.
Columbiana is back in action on Thursday as they host Southern in an ITCL White Division matchup. Southern is coming off their first victory of the season over Malvern. First pitch is scheduled for 5 pm.
