Warriors Defeat Clippers

The West Branch Warriors (1-2) defeated the Clippers (0-4) on a sunny but windy Saturday afternoon.  In a game both squads used to prepare for league play next week, the Warriors used some solid pitching and some poor defense by Columbiana to turn a 2-1 lead into an 11-1 six inning victory.

Jake Clark (2 ip), Drew Cyrus (0-1, 1 ip), Zach Frenger (1 ip) and Mitchell Davidson (1.2 ip) threw for the Clippers.

At the plate, the Clippers were led by TIm Davin who had two hits including an RBI double in the first inning.  Mitchell Davidson had two walks to up his team leading total to 5.

The Clippers are back in action Tuesday at Firestone Park against Southern Local.  The game will be the league opener for both squads.  Devin Rice gets the call on the mound as Columbiana looks to start league play strong.
