Western Reserve Rallies Late to Defeat Clippers 4-3

The Columbiana baseball team lost to the Western Reserve Blue Devils 4-3 Wednesday afternoon.  With the loss the Clippers fell to 0-3 while the Blue Devils moved to 2-1 on the young season.

Devin Rice started on the bump for Columbiana giving up 3 runs in 5 innings.  Rice struck out 3 while walking only 2.  Matt Weidner (0-1) relieved in the sixth and was the tough luck loser giving up 1 run (0 earned) in his frame of work.

Austin Saverko and Matt Weidner led the way for the Clippers at the plate.  Each player collected two hits.  Dylan Davin had a run scoring single in the second and added a sacrifice fly in the fourth for the Clippers second run.  Keenan Green singled in the 3rd to extend his hitting streak to 3.

The Clippers are back in action tomorrow as they travel Sebring to take on the Trojans at 5 pm.
