The Columbiana Clippers hosted the East Palestine Bulldogs in non-league baseball action on Monday. The Bulldogs rallied with 2 runs in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead and held on for the victory. The game was the opener for both squads as the Bulldogs move to 1-0 while the Clippers fell to 0-1.
Leading the way for the Clippers at the plate was Keenan Green. Green went 3-4 on the day with an RBI. Devin Rice added a hit while Dylan Davin also knocked in a run. On the day the Clippers walked 7 times including twice by Mitch Davidson.
Davidson (0-1) took the loss on the mound Monday afternoon. He pitched 5.1 innings giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits while striking out 4 with only 1 walk. Zach Frenger came on relief throwing 1.2 scoreless innings striking out 2. The Clippers look to rebound Tuesday as they host the Blue Jays of Jackson Milton.
