The Columbiana Clippers hosted the East Palestine Bulldogs in non-league baseball action on Monday. The Bulldogs rallied with 2 runs in the sixth to take a 3-2 lead and held on for the victory. The game was the opener for both squads as the Bulldogs move to 1-0 while the Clippers fell to 0-1.
Leading the way for the Clippers at the plate was Keenan Green. Green went 3-4 on the day with an RBI. Devin Rice added a hit while Dylan Davin also knocked in a run. On the day the Clippers walked 7 times including twice by Mitch Davidson.
Davidson (0-1) took the loss on the mound Monday afternoon. He pitched 5.1 innings giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 6 hits while striking out 4 with only 1 walk. Zach Frenger came on relief throwing 1.2 scoreless innings striking out 2. The Clippers look to rebound Tuesday as they host the Blue Jays of Jackson Milton. The game is schedule for a 5 pm start with Jake Clark (0-0) taking the mound for Columbiana.
